Mad Men Dress Challenge

I’m soooo excited about this one!! This might be a stretch for me since I’m already participating in the Colette Sew A-long, but I looooooove Mad Men so I just can’t pass this one up!

I’m pretty new to Julia Bobbin’s blog. I think I found her through the Colette flickr group. …I think. Anyways, she’s a seriously talented seamstress and makes the most brilliant dresses. (Like this one.)

Check out Julia’s post for more details on the challenge. Are you in? She has a fancy little button for you to include in your side bar if you are! See mine? Yeah, that means I have to commit!

Joan is totally my favorite character, but all of the female cast members have such amazing wardrobes that I’m not sure if I’ll end up picking one of Joan’s signature dresses as my inspiration. As far as fit goes, I’ve always been more a fan of A-line day dresses. We’ll see I suppose.

I’m definitely going to have to start watching the episodes over again to help narrow down my ideas. This is going to be so awesome!

p.s. sorry I was sort of MIA last week. We got a brand new cash register and point of sale system at work so I was in every single day helping my super amazing boss get everything re-inventoried and back in the system. We’re still not 100% on how the new system actually works haha! Part of my self-assigned homework for this weekend is to get on the Lightspeed website and try to learn more about it.

I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend so far!

  • What a fun challenge! I am actually working on a dress (with a heart pattern, super cute!) at the moment that has a vintage looking model. πŸ™‚

    • Nice! Be sure to blog about it when you’re finished so I can check it out πŸ™‚
