Trudy Day Dress for the win!

Welp, it’s been decided. I’m going with Trudy’s day dress for the Mad Men Challenge. Time to get sewing!!

PATTERNFABRICINSPIRATION*

*Lots of super amazing Trudy inspiration to be found there!

There are a few tweaks to be made to the pattern I picked, such as adding pockets and buttons all the way down, but other than that it’s almost as spot on as the fabric! Actually, upon closer inspection, the fabric isn’t spot on. But from afar is pretty much perfect! Good enough for me anyways. Lets do this!

Yay Wednesday!

Hi there, just discovered your blog through the Sew Colette Sew-Along Flickr group and I just had to stop by! You’re blog is incredible as as your creations!

Also, Trudy’s shirtdress is one of my very favourites so I look forward to seeing how yours turns out, especially with such an ace fabric find. I’m hoping to take part in the channelge too, but will be making one of Jane’s dresses.

Awesome! I’m so glad you picked Trudy’s dress. I really love that fabric – great colors! It’s not quiiiiite as dark/rich of a hue as Trudy’s but that’s probably good…Spring is approaching, so it’s a good time to get away from dark, heavy winter color schemes.

Can’t wait to see how the dress turns out!

I totally agree that the fabric isn’t as spot on as I originally thought, but I don’t wear a lot of black or very dark colors so I think that’s better. You’re so right about getting ready for spring!
