Dress Envy turned Inspiration

Oh Boy. I found this dress while browsing Daddy-O’s online shop and my brain gasped! The Pink Loop Pocket Dress by Steady not only is aaahhhhbsolutely adorable, but it really got the gears turning for another project coming up. Wink wink! I’m thinking black and white gingham from my stash, pink cotton, and a small mod to the peplum. You know me and my “small mods”. I have to admit, I was definitely thinking pink for this next project after seeing Erin’s rockin’ Pastille Dress!

I’m really feeling like I can turn my least favorite handbook dress into my most favorite dress of all time! Here goes nothing!

Happy Friday All!

This dress is so cute. Love the details on the back & the mixed prints. Fun! :)

You know, I was thinking that the front of the dress is kind of similar to Colette’s Rooibos dress… If you have that pattern you could modify it!

Oooh, that is going to be so cute! I’m looking forward to seeing how you adapt the Truffle! It’s funny that you say it’s your least favourite of the Handbook dresses, because it’s sneakily become my favourite! I wasn’t a big fan at first, but I really like the basic shape of the dress underneath. (Now the Licorice, on the other hand… I’m really not sold on that one!)

Seeing your inspiration gave me some inspiration of my own – to make a flowery summer dress to go with the paper bouquet that I carefully crafted for my wedding last summer, and then forgot to take down the aisle! I figure it deserves a chance to shine! :)

Oh I’m sure I’ll end up modifying the Licorice too haha! I can’t wait to see your dress design, and lovely bouquet as well! Congrats on the wedding :)
