Macaron Extension!

We’re extending the Macaron sew-along deadline until September 9th!

You know, since this is what my Macaron looks like right now. …not done and stuff. But Lucille looks adorable as per usual.

Sarah, Erin, and I thought an extension was in order for those of us (cough cough* ME!) who could really use an extra week to wrap up their dresses. I’ve seen some AMAZING ones in the flickr pool so far! I can’t wait to see the rest 🙂

Have an awesome long weekend everyone!

p.s. Does anyone else find the neck opening to be rather snug? I have a child sized head and it’s still a tight squeeze! lol Maybe I’m just overly sensitive to tighter necklines. I can’t even wear crew neck things because I feel like I’m being strangled. …I’m probably just weird though.

Oh, I love what you’ve got so far! Makes me want to try another one with the same fabric for the top two pieces. I, too, found the neckline snug.

    • Thanks! Yeah I wanted mine to look more like a shirt/skirt combo than an obvious dress.

  • Rhonda

although you haven’t finished this yet, i think it might be my most favourite macaron so far. love how you’ve used the same fabric for the top two sections, with the trim…. really nice! and yes of course, Lucille is looking as cute as ever all snuggled up on her cushion (in such a lovely fabric-made by mommy, no doubt?). how could she ever look otherwise 🙂

    • Thank you, Rhonda! And actually that’s my bedspread on top of a handmade Lucille bed lol. She was being a little brat face and wanted extra warm stuffing on top of her normal sleep spot. So I had to oblige her. I mean, how could you say no to that face?!

  • I have a rather large head, but yes, that neck opening is very snug. I regret I didn’t add a button in the back.

  • Loving the colour combo- so autumnal 🙂 Have you thought about lowering the neckline a little bit? I found that the high neckline didn’t really suit me so I just chopped a bit out & I much prefer it!

    • Yes I think I will alter the neckline in some way or another. We’ll see how it turns out!

  • Crystal

Oh, I am totally diggin the way you have used the two fabrics with the trim along the sweetheart. I must do this!

    • Thanks! I’d love to see your version if you decide to try it 🙂

Ooh, I really like that piping detail. Can’t wait to see all the finished Macarons. I sat out this pattern, but I still like watching from the sidelines. 🙂

Oh and yes I find the neck hole a little snug too.

  • Yay! I was worried about being able to get mine done. Was trying to squeeze it in while painting our bedroom. No worries now! And yes I find the neck hole a little snug too.
