Sew Colette – Peony

Hi there!

I’m super excited for this sew along because I’ve been meaning to make the Peony for some time now and it hasn’t happened yet. I’m also excited to make a sort of themed version of this dress for my mini vacation to Salem Massachusetts this month!

To kick off the Peony Sew Along this week, I’ll be sharing my mood board, a photoshop tutorial so you can make your own, and some tips for getting started with selecting your size and tracing a pattern. I’m trying a Colette digital download for the first time so I’m eager to see how that goes!

First Up: The Plan

I’ve been dying to come up with an excuse to use some of the cotton prints from Alexander Henry’s Ghastlies Collection, and what better excuse than being in Salem during the month of October!? I can’t really think of a more appropriate time to wear a dress made of these ridiculously awesome ghouly prints! I think I like the green color ways the best, but the mauve is really nice too!

This particular one, A Ghastlie Family Reunion in Mold Green, might just be the one. We’ll see!

What are your plans for Peony? I’ve already had a request for another pictorial on invisible zippers, which I will happily oblige. Are there any other particular things you’d like extra help on? Let me know!

Next Up: A Photoshop mood board tutorial.
