SFC – Desktop Background and Sewing Playlist

Now that Spring For Cotton is underway, this will be the last post related to the sewing challenge until later in April. In the meantime I thought it would be fun to create a desktop background, including a calendar with the project due date, and a playlist to sew along to!

The Playlist: Keeping in theme with SFC, the playlist includes songs from the 1920s-70s and covers a variety of genres. I’ve been listening to it for the last few days and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

You can follow the playlist on Spotify if you have it, or listen to it directly from my sidebar on the left.
(*edit – I made one change to the playlist because there was a song on there twice. Whoops!)

The Desktop Background: I made the desktop background to ideally fit a screen resolution of 1366×768 (which is the most common screen size), but it’s a pretty large file so it should work for many different resolutions.

Download the full size desktop background, here.

If you don’t know how to change your desktop background, here are some tutorials for both Mac and Windows. With Windows 8 you can follow the link above and right click the image to change the background directly from that browser tab. I think it looks best on a 1366×768 screen with the “Fill” placement if you have that option.

It’s not too late to join in on the vintage inspired sewing fun! This is a work at your own pace sewing challenge so it doesn’t matter when you start sewing, as long as your project is completed by April 30th.

There are 80+ members in the Spring For Cotton Flickr group so far, come join us!

Next up: I’ll be back on Thursday with a completed project for the Etno Blog Tour πŸ™‚

Hey, hey! I have that fabric, only in the yellow colorway! I used it for a kitchen curtain, but with the idea that I will repurpose it to clothing once we move somewhere less urban (and therefore with less need for a curtain!)

  • What a great idea to keep on track and the play list it is perfection!!! Thank you!!

  • LOVEEEEE these ideas!!!! And it makes me happy having this as a new background on my computer πŸ™‚

  • Brilliant playlist! I’m listening now whilst I trace-off my pattern for spring for cotton! I’m super enthusiastic to get going with the sewing!

P.S. Choosing one’s name is too fun. I had to be a Ladyship today..I guess it’s stuck now for this site. Ooops πŸ˜€

  • I’m not participating in Spring for Cotton, but I can always use a new playlist. Thank you!
