I am SO blown away by the submissions so far!! Every single project is absolutely gorgeous. You’re all making me so proud!!

So, don’t rush! You have a few more days to get your photos in before I’ll officially end the sew-along and start the giveaways. Remember, if you finish your project you’ll have a chance to win some awesome prizes!!

I might even try to squeeze in a pair of pants this weekend, myself!

  • Pingback: Lucky Lucille’s Sew For Victory 1940s Sewalong: Vintage Vogue 2494 (plus ramblings about being Zen, Ru Paul’s Drag Race and Eurovision….bet you never thought you’d see those 3 in the same sentence)()

Just amazing! So many talented people.
I will definitely be taking part in the next one!

  • I so enjoyed looking at the beautiful work posted on Flickr! What a talented group of women! I did finish my project and have a photo on my blog, I am a little challenged in the technology department and new to flickr, but will try to get the photo up there. Thanks for holding the Sew for Victory event, and for sharing all the extraordinary creations for us to enjoy!

I owe you and Kay Adams a big hug each. Kay and her passion for late 19th century attire led me to Lucky Lucille. I had no idea so many people love sewing this much! I dedicated my project to my late mother beause she taught me to sew when I was a child, and she was all about Vogue. I’m setting up a sewing room and seeing what develops. Thanks for your passion and opening this old girl’s eyes to this community. I feel reNEWed, so to speak.

  • I’ve been enjoying so much this challenge. Everyday I love to check the new photos at Flicker and I love to comment them. There are fantastic projects! Thank you Rochelle!!!!! πŸ™‚

  • Oh bless you! Life got in the way and I haven’t been able to devote much time to sewing this last month. Now I’ll have time to finish!

  • I was just bemoaning the fact that I didn’t join in! I’m off to dig in my patterns, I hear a SforV top calling my name! :o)

  • Thank you! I finished my top late last night but didn’t photograph it yet. I was planning on just taking my chances and posting it today and begging you to let me in πŸ™‚ I’m so proud of my top (first vintage pattern I’ve ever used) and excited to see what everyone came up with.

  • misscrayolacreepy

Yay!!! I need the extra time to photograph my top, so this is perfect!

I rather doubt I will make the deadline but I want to thank you so much for having this project. For years I have tried to get the courage to make a garment. I quilt but sewing clothing has always frightened me. This project got me started- I bought a pattern from Wearing History for a 30’s skirt. It is so close to being finished – really just need to hem it, but we have a busy weekend ahead so not sure I can manage even that. This project has given me courage to make more things (already have the fabric and a plan in mind!) I even put in my first zipper! So exciting. So, many many thanks and I love looking at all the lovely creations everyone has made- you are all so talented and inspiring!

  • Not finished yet, so I’m very happy with those extra days!!!!

  • The pattern I ordered has got stock in the mail and haven’t arrived yet, so I sadly want be able to make it anyway. But it’s always inspiring to see all the project anyway.

  • josiemary

Phew!! I’ve finished but haven’t found time to photo. I’m not working this weekend so WILL find time πŸ™‚

  • Amber Hunter

THANK YOU! I was planning on taking photos and posting tonight but then I got called into work. (Boo.) So happy to read this, I am doing a little jig! Ill never wait until the lat minute again!

  • Every day I check out the group and find amazing creations. One right after another, your fans have recreated the 1940’s in full living color. Thanks for taking the time to organize this event. I am already looking around for a pattern for next years fun!

  • I’ve been really enjoying all the posted projects so far – can’t wait to see the final round-up! πŸ™‚

  • How great are these projects?!?! I’m so impressed!

    • Thank you so much! I’ve been battling between rushing to get finished and not wanting to rush because I’m enjoying the process so much (got some 40s playlists blasting, been watching some fab 40s movies on the iPad whilst sewing etc). This means I can pace myself a little better, enjoy looking at the creations already up on the Flickr group and the blog posts, and really have fun with the make….thank you so much for organising this fun each year!
